Amazon has introduced its latest Fire HD 8 tablet, complete with generative AI-powered tools, keeping up with the trend of 2024’s tech advancements. However, the exciting part for existing Fire tablet owners is that these AI features are not limited to the new Fire HD 8 — they will soon be available on the Fire HD 10 and Fire Max 11 as well.

The new tools include a writing assistant built directly into the tablet’s keyboard, designed to help users refine their writing. Additionally, Amazon’s Silk browser will now offer webpage summaries, and users can generate custom wallpapers from prompts. These AI-powered enhancements are expected to roll out to all compatible Fire tablets later this month.

The new Fire HD 8 also comes with upgraded specs that align with 2022’s Fire HD 8 Plus, including 3GB of RAM (up from 2GB) and an improved 5MP rear camera (up from 2MP). These enhancements may provide a smoother experience for the new AI tools. The tablet maintains a battery life of up to 13 hours and offers storage options of either 32GB or 64GB, with the option to expand via a microSD card.

Starting at $99.99, the Fire HD 8 is already available in colors like black, emerald, and hibiscus. Ahead of Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days, the tablet is on sale for as low as $54.99.

There are also rumors of updated Kindle e-readers on the horizon, following a recent leak by a Spanish retailer that revealed a new entry-level Kindle with a brighter display.
